Audio Kit

Here is the first few minutes of Kit Hinrichs’ talk that he gave to the Nebraska AIGA Member’s Party a few weeks ago. I recorded this with my digital camera but the light was too low for the video. The sound quality isn’t great, but I thought some of you might enjoy his opening talk. Here is an MP3 (3.3mb).

Thanks for providing that mp3 for those of us who couldn’t be there. I often forget how young the AIGA is and how young our entire position in the work force is. Too bad my wages as a graphic designer do not provide enough for me to participate in the AIGA with a membership!

Our profession is young, but as far as the AIGA goes it seems to have two histories. It has been around since the early twenties, but it’s largest growth in membership came after local chapters were started in the early eighties. Before that I would assume that it was fairly exclusive to New Yorkers. Here is an interesting essay by Steven Heller for AIGA’s 75th anniversary.
