DesignOff! 2005 Round Six
by Bennett Holzworth, (6 comments)

I am pulling the “Time Crunch” card as well. Just keep in mind that I am also frantically working to get my press fully operational by the time we need to print this. If I can’t get the motor up and running, we just might have to stick Nate on a treadmill to keep the press moving.
Hopefully there is enough change here to critique. I have selected a few new images to replace the ones that would not be in this show. I do miss Caramba girl, but I guess we will have to go on without her. I agreed with some of the last round’s comments about the slight overlap of the “3” and the tree stump. They just don’t overlap enough, so I spaced it out a little bit.
As far as trapping is concerned, it will be interesting to see how it all turns out. I don’t have a ton of furniture (the stuff for spacing and locking up type and images) so it will be a challenge to get the wood type to align in the two different colors. Some of tight registration hopefully won’t be a problem, since most of that will be from digitally made magnesium “cuts”.
Have fun working on this over the Fourth of July weekend Nate. Remember, this was your idea!

Nate is breaking his own rules. Where is your revision Nate? I’m so happy that I stayed up until 3:00 a.m. on my last revision.
Well, at least I don’t have to work on mine over the 4th.

Yeah, that’s what I thought. Maybe if you’d included ALL the images in your pass-off, I’d be able to edit them. I’ve been having massive failure at bringing up that design archives from my home computer. Long story but needless to say I am without the proper files to complete this monster.

And, as a follow-up, I am finding the Archives to be unattainable today as well. Since the main focus of my final round was to be finalizing the images for print, I am calling a Holiday-Delay on rounds 7 and 8. We’ve still got plenty of time, I’m not (too) worried.

AIGA National has been great to the individual local chapters, but the website server is down more than its fair share.
