Extreme Signage, or What Were They Thinking? 9

Once I found out that Speak Up’s Word It for the month was “Extreme” I knew I had to track this van down. I had seen it several months ago and I had wanted to post it here, but it took a little research and driving to find it and take the photo. I know that the “Extreme” trend has been considered over for a while now, but this is a whole new end. This is Charles Dickens deader than a doornail … dead. Please, no more!
Your time’s up! Why do some funeral homes insist on putting a clock on their signage? Is this disconcerting to anyone else?
I felt strangely compelled to get my teeth cleaned when I saw this sign. I wondered if I could get the best designed and branded teeth in the world, but I instead went back to my car and plugged in my iPod. I guess Apple isn’t the only one that can use an apple with a bite out of it. This dentist could have at least put the bite on the other side of the fruit.
A graphic design book mobile? Nope. Just a random coincidence. This is actually on the van of someone I know, but they have no idea who Chip Kidd is. This is for his windshield chip repair service. I did a double take when I first saw it.
I’m never a big fan of advertising that TELLS me what I should or should not think. I do however like to see the effects of weather on billboards.
This is the sign for a recently abandoned car lot. It is completely empty. I was really confused as to whom and what the “Get Rid of This” banner was directed. Maybe someone can help me out with this.

I received this photo in an email from a co-worker. I thought it fit well with this post. Her friend took it while she was driving through Oregon. It is taken through a back window of a moving car on a cloudy day, so the quality is pretty poor. You will get the idea.
