I can't find the Intel logo anywhere on the just released Macs. Actually, I don't even see it on the Apple website. Even the "intel Core Duo" icon appears to be set in Apple's own Myriad.

yes, the swoosh is old and yes, it's cliche. at least the thing isn't ugly.

how about this redesign though: Kodak

JonSel, I think we could get better letterspacing using our wood and metal type. Even on the the "Y" and "e" pair.

Apparently, by "leap", they meant how you'll need to read the headlines. "It's a Leap Year" looks like it was set by a blind man. Even Pagemaker 1.0 didn't have letterspacing problems like that. It's deplorable. (See the new website and logo here.)

Okay.

Intel's new tagline is "Leap Ahead." I swear I didn't know that when I wrote the headline to this article. That is too funny.

Joe.

Go to Sprint.com and check it out in all it's majesty. Now that's a redesign love-story. And don't burn out, man. If you burn out, what hope it there for the rest of us who don't screenprint awesome things just as a hobby?

Nate, any newly-redesigned logos that you do appreciate? All this negativity is bumming me out, man.

Little off topic but heres an interesting video about screen fonts and how they are designed. Not sure if this was mentioned before.

The update seems like a swoosh to me, whereas earlier versions seemed like a ring. Like how you'd highlight/circle something important on a sticky-note to-do list. The semi-meaningful ring of the previous version Logan showed isn't as bad as the meaningless swoosh of the current version.

Millenium Swoosh! Yippeeeeee!

I really doubt that they will be updating their powerbooks in January... though those rumors are leaking out. With most of the major pro apps not being ported yet... they would have to run in the Rosetta environment, therefore dropping their performance. I would instead expect Mac Mini and the new 13" iBook and iBook slim.

Man... that swoosh has no business on my new MacIntel Powerbook!
