Be A Design Cast 5 : Inside Intel
by Nate Voss, (6 comments)

Welcome to Be A Design Cast 5. Today we discuss the Intel’s rebranding effort and the merits of the millennium swoosh along with the final installment of the 2005 holiday design review — don’t forget to vote! Also we welcome David Kadavy to the Design Cast all the way from northern California.
When we did this, I was fighting off a cold that would stop a rhino.
By the time you see this, Intel will have launched their new logo to the sound of a thousand shrugs. Tom and Donovan may be alright with it, but there’s still no excuse for a millennium swoosh. Let alone two of them.
Also be sure you vote in the Holiday Design Review Poll! You’ve heard what we said, now we’re opening it up to our listeners and readers to see who did the best job of spreading non-denominational-ish holiday cheer through design in 2005.

Our apologies for the ugly poll. The good-looking poll we had up this morning brought some pretty unsavory ads with it, so we had to delete it.
So again: Ugly = no crazy ads no safe for the office. Thanks for understanding.

Yeah, that WAS unsavory. Can’t wait to explain to my IT guys why there’s [word deleted] in my browser cache. Jeez.
Just kidding buddy, I thought it was quite funny actually, just not terribly appropriate. New poll looks fine, we’ll have to go with function over form on this one.

I’m generally interested in BeADesignGroup but today is my first day finding out about it.
Have I found a good place to “sign in” and/or “register?”

Pretty much, Hal. There’s no registering or signing in, there’s just “being a part of it.” Look for a new Be A Design Cast sometime today, and in the meantime I suggest heading over to the latest round of the STEP Off and weighing in on the designs. Thanks!
