That basically make it useless to me since I need real GPU power for processing Camera RAW format... particularly in Aperture. Shit... that sucks. I have to shell out for the Pro, I guess. Useful for me? no.

They were very durable due to the rubberized+matte finished casing. Bring that back with some duo-core guts and it might just have to be ON baby! I just bought a used G4 "TiBook" and it does have more than little scratches in the exterior. It seems that more often than not, there is a dent or two in the metal from carrying the power cord in the case. I would rather have scratches that I could possibly buff out, over dents in the metal. It is a nice looking piece of hardware and I think its dark shell is more durable than the aluminum bodies from what I've heard. Still looks great on its 7th year.
