Design Survey 3: Design Magazines

by Adrian Hanft, (3 comments)

With 700 votes in our last survey, we learned that the vast majority of us can do a better job of forking out cash for our type collections (Click here for complete results). Shame on us.

Our next survey turns its attention to design publications. Which of the following best describes how you read your design magazines?

  1. I can’t wait to get my design magazines and always read them cover to cover.
  2. I occassionally skip an article here and there, but generally I read most of the magazine.
  3. Every once in a while I read an article, but usually I am just looking at the pictures so I can find inspiration and keep my eye on current trends.
  4. I may flip through one every once in a while, but I don’t go out of my way to read them.
  5. Design magazines are dead. Long live design blogs!

Mark me down for number 5. Cast your vote here, or just view the results.

Magazines ARE design. :) I chose #2 because I do more than look at pictures but I’m not running to the mailbox for the magazine, well, except Relevant Mag. I get a ton from that one, even though it’s not a design magazine.
