Be A Design Cast 30.5 : All Aboard For Dream Project Island
by Nate Voss, (9 comments)

It’s a little halfsies show this week, just to get you prepared for next week’s adventure-filled journey to the exotic Dream Project Island. Located 25 miles south of last season’s Typography Island, Dream Project Island is where all of your wildest design-job fantasies come true. Or something like that. Big welcome back to Design Princess Ashley McFeely for this week and next week’s show, where we’ll also hear from some of the industry’s heaviest hitters on what their dream projects would be. You will be shocked — SHOCKED I say — by their answers. See you next week!

Hey guys, time for some honesty
I was excited upon visiting BADG, because I had a new podcast to enjoy. I can’t say I have ever been more let down by a podcast. Why was this posted?
30.5? more like 30.0125

They are just little nuggets. I suppose the emphasis is on “little”. I don’t know, it seems they are more trouble than they are worth, only 2.5 minutes.
There is only one way to lead a horse to a stream and make him drink, salt him.
That must be what these .5 BADcasts are, salt.

So I’m sensing you guys might not be loving this week’s .5’er.
While schedules do not permit us at this time to offer full, half-hour episodes on a weekly basis, we do have a lot of material that slips through the cracks. Things that we want to do more of, like topics that don’t really fit into a specific topic for a show (like Steve Gordon waxing philosophic about “street” design) and listener mail/comments. We’ve started to offer these halfsies episodes in order to bring you guys that kind of content in addition to the show proper.
Yes, they will continue for the time being to be pretty short — between 2 and 5 minutes apiece, without chapters or weblinks. Consider them short subjects (we make the distinction by not giving them full episode numbers). We’ll definitely keep in mind that commercials for upcoming shows may not be the best use of our audience’s time. We just get too much fun stuff when we’re recording to keep throwing it out every other week.
And GC, we like to think of them as the brownies that make you want the tall, refreshing glass of milk.

I like that illustration better than the salt and the horse. Brownies taste better than horses. Not that I would know what horses taste like, though.

You guys need to sort out your audio. I’ve been saying that for years, it seems, but why is there one voice floating off on the far, far, left while everyone else is center?
Still, love the ‘cast.

Ok, this is really really funny. I have been designing for about a year, with no real formal training. I find a lot of the tech difficult, (logos, etc) but you guys make it all funny, and that’s a load off my mind.
Yes, being in Apple’s competition, that would be awesome b/c I am a Huge apple fan, but it would be fun to destroy. Why? Because you can. Or, can’t.
