I will ask you the same question you asked me…

Seriously, out of everything happening around this logo, THIS is what you choose to center on? Really?

It is a pretty funny clip, though, I must admit.

I’d argue it’s as appropriate a place for attention as any of the other banter (i.e. complaining) going on about this logo. Stewart may not be any more qualified to evaluate the effectiveness of this logo than the thousands of people bitching about it in various on- and off-line forums, but at least he’s funnier than most of them.

p.s. Here’s the real topic of debate on this issue: I’ve seen several reports from various sources in the general public, talking about the design of the logo, and NOT ONE mentioned the person or firm that designed the logo. I’d say our field has a long way to go in terms of gaining proper respect out in the world. It should be a matter of course that the designer receives credit in any story expressly about a design.

I wish the Olympics would bring back free-style sodomy.

Jonny boy pretty much nailed with the slot machine going down on a stop sign.

I kinda wondered if someone was gonna post this.

Hey, Drew, I thought a designer’s work was supposed to speak for itself. If the news accounts took the designer in question to task you’d probably complain about him/her being unfairly singled out. Commercial design is just that.
