A Fond Farewell
by Adrian Hanft, (6 comments)
Dear Be A Design Group Readers,
You may or may not have noticed that I haven’t made a post here on Be A Design Group for about four months. Remember the days when I was posting almost daily? Well, I apologize for my absence and not making this announcement sooner. It was a hard decision to make, but I have retired from being an author on Be A Design Group. I am still as passionate about design as ever, but it has become increasingly difficult to find the motivation, time, courage, and inspiration to keep pumping out quality design essays. The group will continue without me and my role will shift to behind-the-scenes support.
I am not retiring from blogging completely and you can always follow my rambling at Adrian3.com or track my camera adventures at Found Photography. Thanks for all the passionate discussions regardless of which side of the debate we ended up on. I plan on maintaining a voice in the comments, so this is only kind of a goodbye. Nothing to get… choked… up… about. Farewell!

Adrian—thank you for all your work and countless hours trying to get us to thinkthinkthink about issues larger than the simple recurrent tasks at hand.

Adrian — Good luck. Thank you for keeping us engaged when you were here. It’s darn hard to blog every day, I’m on my third, and I can say that you’ve made it much farther and much longer than anything that I’ve tried. — DC1974

Adrian, it’s a shame to hear of your retirement. Since BADcast 10 I had been eagerly awaiting Ragnarok 2, another two hour show with camping, drunkenness, and typographic in-jokes, but to no avail. The multiauthor jam session and your role in it will be missed.

Farewell, and thank you for your contribution to the design community and raising the bar on quality debate.
You do know that you could probably sell this blog/website if it has become too much for you to manage. Have a look at: the Sitepoint Marketplace
You might get a good price.
